PROJECT WORLD CUP
SPOTLIGHT

Join us. The world is watching.
Welcome to the World Cup. Enjoy the 'beautiful game'. But remember, in the shadow of these stadiums, there are people being held, shackled, and stripped of the things that make us human.
So take the unity and the passion you feel in this moment and, after the final whistle, stand with us. Fight for them.

Our Mission
We are Project World Cup Spotlight. Our mission is to transform the global stage of the World Cup into a catalyst for social justice. We will no longer watch as people are snatched from our streets, denied due process, and caged like animals. This summer the world is coming to see a game. We are here to show them the truth.

Project World Cup Spotlight announces new partnership with Mijente
Project World Cup Spotlight is proud to announce a new partnership with Mijente, a leading social justice organization dedicated to Latinx rights and justice. This collaboration will focus on the crucial fight against "Tech for ICE," challenging the ways the tech industry enables and profits from the surveillance, arrest, and detention systems used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The partnership highlights the release of a new, comprehensive report by Mijente, Just Futures Law, and Surveillance Resistance Lab titled, "The Tech Behind ICE: Oligarchs, Immigration Enforcement and the Threat to Democracy." The report exposes how the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) influence, powered by invasive surveillance technology and corporate partnerships, has expanded deep into our communities.
This critical report provides a deep-dive analysis of the top 10 most invasive technologies and contracts used by DHS, from spyware and data analytics to drones. It also offers concrete strategies for organizing advocacy, research, and litigation to fight back against this expanding surveillance infrastructure.
To launch the report and discuss its findings, Mijente will be hosting a public webinar on Monday, June 29th, at 7:00 PM ET. Click this link to register: https://secure.ngpvan.com/Jfq6AaFDNEmPobk1jBw3FA2
